Feedback on the experience at Busan JRYN Dermatology | What everyone wants to know about this 2,600-square-meter gem of a store located in Seomyeon – my personal experience speaks for itself.

In one sentence: It’s worth going, and it was even better than I expected.

Before going, I was actually quite hesitant. There are so many Dermatology clinics in Stolotology. So what exactly made Jin Yan JRYN score a solid 4.9 on Naver? With a floor area of 2,600 square meters, over 100 pieces of equipment, and 15 chief physicians on duty – are these numbers really accurate, or are they just part of some marketing rhetoric?

After experiencing it firsthand, I can say with certainty that it isn’t perfect, but its advantages far outweigh its shortcomings. Below, I will detail the entire experience, including the prices, service details, and some “unwritten rules” that you might not find on platforms like Dcard or PTT.

I. Why Choose Zhenyan JRYN? Three Key Reasons That Convenced Me to Make the Purchase

To be honest, I originally wanted to go to Seoul for skin treatment. But after doing some calculations, I found that the costs in Busan were 20-30% lower than those in Seoul’s Gangnam area. Considering the additional expenses for flights and accommodation, going to Busan for skin treatment would actually save me at least one-third of my total budget.

With so many Dermatology clinics in Busan, why choose JRYN in particular?

“Same price in China and South Korea” is not just a slogan.

This is really important. Many Dermatology clinics in South Korea charge different prices for foreigners, but JRYN’s price list is completely transparent – the same prices apply to both South Koreans and foreigners. Similar to The First D transparency, JRYN’s advantage lies in the fact that its promotional discounts are available to foreigners as well, without the need for a South Korean mobile phone number for verification.

2. Scale determines the minimum standard of the experience offered.

What does 2,600 square meters mean? It’s roughly the size of two basketball courts. I’ve been to many Dermatology clinics, and in some small offices, patients even have to wait in the hallway. However, the waiting area at JRYN is so spacious that it’s more like a café. What’s more important is that there are 2-3 units of the same equipment available, which means that even if there are many customers, you won’t have to wait too long.

The waiting area of Busan JRYN Dermatology is spacious, well-lit, and designed with a strong sense of elegance.
▲ The waiting area is spacious and bright, completely different from the oppressive atmosphere commonly found in traditional medical institutions.

3. Doctors should not indiscriminately recommend various treatments to patients.

I originally wanted to undergo Thermage treatment, but after the director examined my skin, he immediately said, “Your skin is relatively thin, so Thermage won’t be very effective right now. It’s better to nourish your skin’s base layer first.” Then he recommended a combination of hyaluronic acid therapy and basic skin repair treatments, which cost only one-third of what Thermage would cost.

This attitude of “pushing money out” actually led me to decide to stay here in the end.

III. Process upon arrival at the clinic: Appointment → Registration → Consultation → Treatment – the entire process is recorded in detail.

3.1 Making an Appointment

I made my reservation through BeautsGO a week in advance. I chose the time slot at 10:30 am on Thursday – and that turned out to be the best decision I ever made, which I will explain later.

When making an appointment, you can indicate the language you prefer and the specific service you would like to consult about. I filled in “Chinese service + Thermage consultation,” and indeed, a Chinese-speaking staff member was assigned to accompany me throughout the entire process.

3.2 Report for duty

Upon arriving on the 4th floor of the Mitsui Building, you’ll immediately find the JRYN counter as soon as the elevator doors open. Present your passport for registration (don’t forget to bring it; you’ll need it for tax refunds), fill out a brief questionnaire about your skin condition, and then you’ll be taken to the waiting area where you’ll wait for your number to be called.

The waiting area offers free coffee and tea, and its decor features a minimalist Korean style with pure white colors and natural wood elements. To be honest, it looks even better than many cafes.

▲ Each treatment room has its own independent space and is equipped with professional instruments.

3.3 In-person consultation

After waiting for about 10 minutes, the Chinese-speaking manager came in first to have a preliminary discussion and understand my needs and budget. Then, Director Li personally came in for the consultation – which was a bit of a surprise to me, because in many large Dermatology clinics, it’s usually the consultants who handle the initial consultations, with the director only appearing during the actual treatment procedures.

After examining my skin with a dermatological device, the director directly pointed out several issues with my skin: excessive oil production in the T-zone, thin stratum corneum on the cheeks, and signs of pigmentation. He then gave me some recommendations: start with Hyaluronic Acid injections for hydration and repair, combined with LDM water droplet Lifting treatments as a basic skincare routine. Once my skin condition stabilizes, we can then consider anti-aging treatments.

The entire consultation took about 15 minutes. There was no sense of pressure or sales attempts; it felt more like discussing skin issues with a very professional friend.

3.4 Treatment Process

After the consultation, the department head took me to the cleansing area where I could clean up myself using the makeup remover and facial cleansing products provided. Then we went into the treatment room, where the attending physician would review the treatment plan and confirm my pain tolerance once again.

I first underwent LDM droplet Lifting treatment. During the procedure, I hardly felt anything; it was just like the device gently gliding over my face. Then came the hyaluronic acid injection – there was a slight stinging sensation, but it was within an acceptable range. The director kept asking, “Are you okay?” and “Do we need to apply more pressure here?” throughout the whole process, which really made me feel at ease.

The entire treatment took approximately 40 minutes. After it was completed, a medical cold compress mask was applied to reduce the swelling.

Offering prices comparable to those in China, Chinese-speaking services, and tax-refund options, this clinic has received a Naver rating of 4.9/5. With BeautsGO’s one-click reservation system, prices are transparent, and there are no hidden fees.

V. Postoperative Results and Experiences

After the procedure, my face turned slightly red that day, but there were no visible needle marks or bruises. The director provided me with a post-treatment care guide in Chinese, emphasizing the importance of not wearing makeup for 24 hours and avoiding excessive sun exposure for a week.

Starting from the third day, I began to notice changes: the moisture content of my skin significantly increased, and my makeup applied much more smoothly. Even the T-zone, which used to get oily in the afternoon, showed significant improvement.

A week later, during the follow-up visit, the director examined my skin and said that the recovery was going well. He suggested coming back after one month for a second session of hyaluronic acid treatment, as three sessions in a row would yield the most stable results. However, he also added that if my skin condition remained stable, there was no need to follow a fixed schedule; excessive treatment could actually be counterproductive.

VI. Suggestions for Those Who Are Considering It (Things Not Mentioned on Dcard or PTT)

6.1 When is the best time to go?

Monday to Thursday mornings are the preferred times. Weekends and Friday afternoons see the highest crowds, so even if you make a reservation, you may still have to wait for 15 to 30 minutes. I arrived at 10:30 on Thursday morning and hardly had to wait at all.

6.2 Language is not an issue; what matters is knowing how to express your needs effectively.

There was a Chinese-speaking director accompanying us throughout the process, so communication was completely unproblematic. However, I suggest that you find out in advance the English names of the treatments you are interested in (for example, Thermage = Thermage, Ultherapy = HIFU, Rejuran = Rejuran). This will make it easier for you to communicate with the director.

6.3 The prices can be more affordable.

In addition to tax refunds, JRYN occasionally offers various promotional activities (such as special prices for first-time customers or 10% discounts for couples). It is recommended to inquire about current promotions when making a reservationclinics in Busan are generally lower than those in Seoul. Unless you have a particular reason to go to Seoul, Busan is a very cost-effective option.

6.4 Sun protection after surgery is essential

The ultraviolet radiation in Busan is much stronger than you might imagine, especially in coastal areas. After undergoing treatments such as hyaluronic acid injections or laser procedures, sun protection is not an optional measure but a necessity. It is recommended to use physical sunscreen with an SPF of 50+ and reapply it every 2–3 hours within the first week after the precautions for Rejuran, I have written a detailed article before; be sure to read it if you have undergone any injectable treatments.

6.5 Not everyone is suitable for it

JRYN operates in a highly efficient and business-oriented manner – with fast processes, high efficiency, and large-scale operations. If you prefer the slower pace and personalized, private care offered by more niche clinics, JRYN might not be right for you. However, if you value state-of-the-art facilities, a large number of doctors, transparent pricing, and seamless communication, then JRYN is definitely a reliable choice.

VII. Conclusion: Will I return again?

The answer is: Yes.

It’s not because it is flawless, but because it achieves a balanced level in all four dimensions: professionalism, price, service, and convenience.

  • Suitable for: Beginners who are going to South Korea for medical beauty treatments for the first time, those with mature skin who seek anti-aging treatments with high cost-performance ratios, tourists who come to Busan for vacation and take the opportunity to take care of their skin, and people with limited budgets who want to avoid making mistakes.
  • Not very suitable for: people who seek utmost privacy, those who cannot tolerate any waiting time (especially on weekends), and those who want to undergo major cosmetic surgeries (this is a Dermatology clinic, not a plastic surgery center).

If you, like me, place more trust in the equipment you can see with your own eyes and the professional judgment of the doctors than in fancy marketing rhetoric, then Zhenyan JRYN will not disappoint you.

One final reminder: no matter which Dermatology clinic you choose to visit, make sure to book a appointment in advance. In South Korea, the reservation system is strictly enforced in Dermatology clinics, so going without an appointment will most likely result in a wasted trip.
