I originally thought I would need to undergo many treatments: hyaluronic acid injections, Pico treatments, Botox, Filler… The list was quite long. But after Dr. Li completed the VISIA skin analysis, he pointed at the data on the screen and said to me, “Your Collagen level is still okay; you don’t need hyaluronic acid injections. What you really need to address are the depressions and wrinkles in these three areas.”
She identified three areas in particular: the lines on the back of her hands, the fine wrinkles around her mouth, and the sunken areas of her facial contours. Then she gave me a quote, which was nearly 40% lower than my budget.
A hospital director who openly refused the opportunity to earn more money—such honesty made me decide right there and then to work here.
President Lee Eun-ji also comes from a solid background: she graduated from the university-affiliated hospital and has specialized in Filler treatments for over 10 years. Her research publications can be found on Naver. She isn’t just someone who holds a title but doesn’t actually get hands-on; she is involved in every step of the process, from patient consultation to treatment. By the way, if you are looking for a l in Myeongdong, DAN-A is just a 5-minute walk away, so you can easily combine shopping with your beauty treatment.

III. Comprehensive Record of the Hospital Visit Process | From registration to the actual consultation, every step is worry-free.
1. Appointment and Check-in
I made my reservation two weeks in advance through BeautsGO. Upon arriving at Exit 8 of Myeongdong Station, I followed the directions for about 5 minutes until I found the Arnuvo Centum Building. Taking the elevator to the 3rd floor, I was immediately greeted by the Chinese-speaking manager waiting for me at the reception.
The registration process is quite simple: fill out basic information → complete a skin condition questionnaire → wait for your number to be called. The waiting area is small but comfortable, equipped with water and magazines. After about 10 minutes, it was my turn.
2. VISIA Skin Analysis
The Chinese manager first took me for a test using the VISIA skin analysis device. This machine uses high-definition cameras to capture detailed images of your face and then analyzes eight different aspects, including spots, wrinkles, skin texture, Pores, UV spots, brown patches, red areas, and porphyrins (bacterial metabolites).
My test results show that my scores in terms of UV spots and wrinkles are on the lower side, but the condition of my Collagen is still quite good. This also confirms what Director Li said later: “There is no need for hyaluronic acid injections.”
3. Personal consultation by the hospital director
When Dean Lee Eun-ji walked in, my first impression was that she seemed very calm and unhurried. There was no sense of being “in a rush”. After reviewing my VISIA report, instead of immediately recommending any treatments, she asked me first, “Which aspect of the results do you feel dissatisfied with the most?”
After I finished speaking, she took over and said, “What you just mentioned can actually be summarized into three main issues.” Then she analyzed each one of them for me. It was very much like what is described in s in South Korea” – a doctor who truly understands the skin doesn’t immediately recommend the most expensive treatment, but instead helps you find the most suitable solution for you.

IV. Real Case 1: Wrinkle Removal on the Hands – Returning from “Mom’s Hands” to a Young Girl’s Hands
Problem: The lines on the back of my hands are very deep, especially in the areas around the knuckles and fingertips. Every time I take a photo, I’m too embarrassed to show my hands in the frame. Even when reaching out to grab food during meals with friends, it feels really awkward.
Director Li’s judgment: “The aging of the hands is mainly caused by two issues: firstly, the loss of Filler in the dermis leads to dryness; secondly, sun exposure causes damage to Collagen. Simply applying hand cream is not enough; treatment involving filling and Collagen stimulation is necessary.”
Treatment plan: Micro-injection of Filler into the back of the hand (Juvelook), combined with Collagen regeneration stimulation. Juvelook is a polylactic acid filler (PDLLA). Unlike traditional Filler, which simply serves a “filling” purpose, it stimulates the regeneration of natural Collagen, resulting in longer-lasting effects.
Procedure: After applying the anesthetic for about 20 minutes, the injection began. Director Li’s technique was extremely precise; each injection site was no larger than a sesame seed, and he worked his way from the back of the hand to the fingertips, treating each area individually. In total, more than 30 injection sites were applied to the entire hand, and the entire procedure took approximately 25 minutes. The pain level was roughly at 2 out of 10—almost imperceptible.

The image above shows the before-and-after comparison of hand wrinkle removal. As you can see, on the left (before treatment), the lines on the back of the hand are clearly visible, and the skin appears dry and rough; on the right (after treatment), the skin looks much more plump and smooth, with the veins and tendons no longer standing out as much, giving the overall appearance at least 5 years younger.
V. Real Case 2: Reducing Fine Lines Around the Mouth | No More Worries About Showing Your Gums When You Smile
Problem: I have noticeable Marionette Line Correction and extended Nasolabial Fold Correction around my mouth, especially when I smile. The fine lines around my lips appear in concentric circles, making the area around my mouth look much older.
Director Li’s opinion: “The area around the mouth is one of the most easily overlooked regions when it comes to anti-aging. Many people focus only on the cheeks and forehead, but aging in this area can make a person look 3 to 5 years older overall. The main issue with your skin around the mouth is the appearance of fine lines caused by the loss of collagen in the dermis; applying a small amount of Filler in targeted areas can effectively address this problem.”
Treatment plan: Micro-injection of Filler around the mouth area (using Belotero Filler), focusing on three key areas: the starting point of the Marionette Line Correction, the outer side of the lips, and the edge of the upper lip. Director Li employs the “multi-point micro-injection technique,” injecting only 0.02–0.05 ml at each site, with the goal of achieving a natural result where “no signs of treatment are visible, but the overall appearance improves significantly.”

The image above shows a 360-degree comparison of fine lines around the mouth area. It is clear that the fine lines surrounding the mouth have become less noticeable, the skin’s texture has become smoother, and the entire area around the mouth looks much younger and more even. Especially when smiling, there is no longer any concern about these lines coming into focus and stealing the spotlight.
VI. Real Case 3: Lifting of Facial Contours | The Profile Finally Takes Shape
Question: There is a slight depression in the middle of my face (below the Apple Zone), which makes the contour of my side face appear flat and lacking in IPCHEA. Whenever I take selfies, I always have to find the right angle; otherwise, my face looks as if it has been flattened.
Director Li’s diagnosis: “Your cheekbone structure is actually quite good, but the fat pad beneath the Apple Zone has somewhat atrophied over the years, and the loss of Collagen has caused the middle part of your face to sink. Using Filler for supportive filling in this area will yield very noticeable results.”
Treatment plan: Deep support filling with Filler in the middle of the face (Belotero Volume), approximately 1.2 ml. The Filler is primarily injected beneath the Apple Zone and deep within the Nasolabial Fold Correction area to provide a “scaffold-like” support, rather than merely filling the superficial layers of the skin.

The image above shows the before-and-after comparison of facial contour Lifting. On the left (before treatment), there are obvious sunken areas in the middle of the face, making the contours appear discontinuous when viewed from the side; on the right (after treatment), these sunken areas have been filled in, resulting in a smooth and continuous curve from the temples to the chin. This approach of “not changing your appearance but making you look better than before” is precisely Dr. Lee’s consistent philosophy. It differs from the currently popular combinnts, as Filler is more suitable for targeted, precise improvements in specific areas.

VII. DAN-A Dermatology Price List | Listed in Taiwanese dollars for clear visibility
The following are the project prices that I learned on-site at DAN-A Dermatology (listed in Korean won and converted into Taiwanese dollars at the exchange rate of 1 KRW ≈ 0.023 TWD). The actual prices are subject to on-site consultations; the following figures are for reference only.

💰 A little tip to save money: DAN-A does not recommend negotiating prices aggressively, but you can ask about “follow-up treatment discounts” or “package deals”. When I combined three treatments myself, the total cost was approximately 10% lower than if I had undergone each treatment separately.
VIII. Complete recovery tracking 14 days after the procedure
| time | Status | Precautions |
|---|---|---|
| On the 1st day after the surgery | Slight redness and a slight warmth; the skin also feels a bit swollen to the touch. | For the first three days, avoid contact with water, refrain from wearing makeup, and do not use acidic skincare products. The clinic provided a repair cream and ice packs for use. |
| On the 3rd day after the surgery | The redness completely faded, and the skin began to become smoother and more delicate. | You can gently wash your face and avoid massaging it too vigorously. The Pores will appear smaller, and the texture of your skin will return to normal. |
| On the 5th day after the surgery | It has fully recovered, and no signs of the procedure can be seen at all. | Apply makeup and perform skincare as usual. The texture of my hand skin has improved significantly, so I finally feel confident enough to show my hands in photos. |
| 7th day after the surgery | The results were incredibly noticeable! My colleagues thought I had changed my foundation. | The skin’s firmness and glow have significantly improved, the contours of the jawline are now more defined, and the fine lines around the mouth are almost invisible. |
| On the 10th day after the surgery | Stable and sustained effects, with long-lasting results | The Chinese department head kept in touch via WeChat to check on the recovery progress and asked if there were any discomforts or questions. The service provided was truly excellent. |
| On the 14th day after the surgery | The final results are stable, with no rebound effects. | The results in all three cases were stable: the hands remained smooth, the fine lines around the mouth continued to fade, and the facial contours remained full and defined. |
The 7th day was truly a turning point. That morning, while applying makeup, I stared at my reflection in the mirror and was surprised to see that the fine lines around my mouth had faded significantly, and the contours of my face were now more defined. At work, a colleague asked me, “Did you change your foundation? Your skin looks so good today.” I replied with a smile, “It’s not the foundation—it’s because I went to Myeongdong.”
IX. Three things you must know before going to DAN-A Dermatology
Book in advance to avoid Thursdays and Sundays.
DAN-A Dermatology only reserves 3 to 5 spots per day for overseas patients. During the peak seasons (summer vacation, Christmas, and around the Spring Festival), reservations must be made at least one month in advance. Additionally, the clinic is closed on Thursdays and Sundays, so you should avoid booking flights on these days.
2. First, undergo a VISIA assessment; don’t make arbitrary judgments on your own.
Many people go to cosmetic clinics with a “shopping list” in hand: I want to do this, I want to do that… But Director Lee’s approach is to first look at the data before making any decisions. The results of the VISIA test will tell you what your skin really needs, not what you “think” it needs. Believe me, data is far more reliable than intuition.
3. Proper post-treatment care is essential to maximize the results.
The effectiveness of Filler injections depends half on the doctor’s technique and half on proper post-treatment care. It is essential to follow these basic rules: avoid water, makeup, alcohol, and saunas for the first three days. DAN-A will provide you with a detailed checklist of post-treatment precautions and also offer WeChat contact information so you can ask any questions at any time; the Chinese-speaking manager responds very quickly.
X. FAQ: Common Questions
Q1: Does the Filler treatment at DAN-A Dermatology hurt?
I would give it a score of about 3.5 out of 10. Director Li first applies numbing cream for about 20 to 25 minutes. During the procedure, I mainly felt a warm sensation and a slight swelling, but no stinging pain. Moreover, she would always inform me in advance about how the treatment would feel in each area, and she would immediately pause whenever I raised my hand to signal that I needed a break, which was really reassuring.
Q2: How long does the effect of Filler injection last?
Generally, the effect of Filler injections lasts for about 6 to 12 months. However, since Juvelook stimulates the regeneration of one’s own Collagen, its effects may be even longer-lasting (around 12 to 18 months). The specific duration varies from person to person and is influenced by an individual’s metabolic rate as well as post-treatment care.
Q3: Can one communicate with DAN-A Dermatology in Chinese?
No problem at all. DAN-A is equipped with a full-time Chinese-speaking coordinator who will provide translation services throughout the entire process, from consultation and consultation to post-operative follow-up. Although Director Lee mainly speaks Korean, our Chinese coordinator will be able to explain all professional terms clearly, ensuring zero communication barriers for you.
Q4: Does DAN-A Dermatology accept credit card payments? What other payment methods are available?
We accept credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) as well as cash (Korean won). For certain services, tax refunds are available; please don’t forget to bring your passport. It is recommended that you confirm the current payment and tax-refund policies with the Chinese manager before your trip.
Q5: Can these three cases be completed all at once? Or is it better to do them separately?
I completed all three procedures in one session, which took approximately 1.5 hours in total (including the time for applying the anesthetic). Director Li suggested that if you have enough time, you could divide the procedures into two sessions, with a 2-3 week interval between them. This would allow you to observe the effects of each treatment more clearly. However, it’s completely possible to complete all three procedures in one go, as the recovery process progresses simultaneously after the surgery.
XI. Conclusion | Why is it worth flying all the way to Seoul just to visit DAN-A Dermatology?
After visiting various Dermatology clinics in Seoul, DAN-A gave me the impression that this place was not so much a “medical aesthetics clinic” as it was a “skin care center”.
President Lee Eun-ji has a very clear approach: no sales pitches, no forced recommendations, and no unnecessary treatments. She relies on VISIA data to determine what your skin truly needs, and then uses her over 10 years of experience in fillers to perform precise treatments, treating each area individually. This philosophy of “less is more” is truly rare in the Seoul medical aesthetics industry.
After performing these 3 procedures, the total cost in Taiwanese dollars was approximately NT$25,300 (equivalent to around 450,000 Korean won). The results 14 days later were well worth every penny spent. My hands became smoother, my wrinkles faded, and the contours of my face became more defined — and no one could tell that I had undergone any treatment; they simply thought my “appearance had improved.”
If you are shopping in Myeongdong or staying at a Lotte Hotel in the vicinity, DAN-A Dermatology is definitely worth adding to your itinerary. But remember: make an appointment 2-3 weeks in advance, avoid Thursdays and Sundays, and bring up your real skin concerns with Director Lee – she will give you the most honest answers.
