This article is based on my personal experience visiting South Korea for medical treatments and compiled from publicly available infor mation. It is not intended as medical advertising nor does it constitute any medical advice. Is Gold J Dermatology in South Korea worth a visit? I went there in person to Seonnyung Station and e xperienced direct consultation by the clinic director, identical prices for Koreans and foreigners, and clear pricing upfront (including 8 key points to keep in mind when scheduling). During my trip to Seoul, I chose a boutique Dermatology clinic near Seonnyung Station that many people privately refer to as “Dr. Kim’s golden-hand clinic” — Gold J Clinic (골드제이의원). I came across this clinic because several friends who had undergone cosmetic procedures said, “It’s small, not run like a mass-production setu
p, and the director performs the procedures herself.” For someone who had already been scammed by chain clinics that used fake directors while actual assistants did the work, this detail was a huge plus for me. Exiting Exit No. 1 at Seonnyung Station, you’ll find the Daechi Building where Tim Hortons is located right in front of you. Take the elevator to the 8th floor, and you’ll arrive at Gold J’s reception area. The space isn’t large, but the lighting, sofas, and product displays are all thoughtfully arranged, creating a comfortable atmosphere rather than a crowded one — almost like a high-end salon. My first impression was that this place would be perfect for those who dislike noise or feeling surrounded by crowds. **I. How did I find Gold J? Let’s star t with transportation and the surrounding area** **Address: 8th Floor, Daechi Building, 408 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (서울특별시 강남구 테헤란로 408, 대치빌딩 8층). **Transportation:** Take Subway Line 2 or Suin-Bundang Line to Seonnyung Station. Exit at Exit No. 1, and you’ll see Tim Hortons right in front. The clinic is in the same building, and it takes only 1 to 2 minutes to get from the exit to the clinic. From Incheon Airport, take Bus 6009 to Seonnyung Station, which takes about 70 to 80 minutes. If coming from Gimpo Airport, the taxi fare is around ₩30,000 to ₩35,000. The building has a parking lot, w ith free parking for 2 hours during treatments and free parking for 1 hour during consultations. **Operating Hours:** Monday to Friday, 10:00–19:30, with a lunch break from 13:00–14:00; Saturday, 10:30–16:00; closed on Sundays and South Korean public holidays. All appointments are required, so it’s recommended to book 3 to 5 days in advance. For weekends, booking a week ahead is ideal.

What sets thi |
s clinic apart is its policy of identical prices for Koreans and foreigners, with no hidden fees. In other words, the price list shown to international clients is the same as that for local Koreans — there’s no extra charge just because you’re foreign. This is a big advantage for those worried about being overcharged. That said, prices may vary depending on promotio

ns and individual treatment plans, so the final quote will depend on th
e in-person consultation.
**IV. The actual consultation process: About two hours from arrival to departure**
Upon arriving, you won’t see the doctor right away. Instead, a Chinese-speaking coordinator will help you fill out basic information first, followed by a skin test. The clinic uses a VISIA system combined with a
dermoscope, and the results are sent directly to the director. So during the consultation, she doesn’t make recommendations arbitrarily but bases them on the data.
Director Lee will create a personalized treatment plan based on your facial contours, degree of sagging, fat distribution, and muscle structure. For example, when I asked about Thermage, she mentioned that they u
se the Corage device to preheat the skin to around 40°C first, allowing each energy pulse of Thermage to penetrate the dermis more effectively. It seems like a clinic tailored for those who pay attention to details.
After the consultation, there’s no pressure to pay on the spot. Instead, I was asked to take the treatment plan home to think it over. Before leaving, the Chinese-sp

**V. 8 key points to keep in mind before scheduling: Read these first!**
**Point 1: Is the director performing
| the procedure personally?**
Gold J emphasizes direct co |
nsultation and treatment by the director. Director Lee Hyun-joo will personally conduct the consultation and perform most procedures. However, during peak times, her schedule is fully booked. When booking, make sure to confirm whether th
| e procedure will indeed be done by Director Lee he |
rself, not just under her name.
**Point 2: Book at least a week in advance for weekends**
The clinic is open only until 16:00 on Saturdays, and slots are very limited. If you plan to visit on a weekend, be sure to book at least a week in advance
| through BeautsGO or the official customer service. It’s highly u |
nlikely you can get a last-minute appointment.
**Point 3: Avoid scheduling during lunch break**
The regular lunch break is from 13:00–14:00, during which doctors and some staff members
| take a break. It’s recommended to schedule appointments after 10 |
:30, 11:00, or 14:30 to avoid waiting during the lunch break.
**Point 4: Prices do not include 10% tax**
The reference prices listed online usually don’t include tax, so you’ll have to pay an additional 10% at checkout. Remember to factor this cost into your budget to avoid unexpected expenses.
**
| Point 5: Ask about promotional prices for popular |
procedures**
Procedures like Ulthrea, Thermage, and Juvelook often come in package deals, such as Ulthrea + Thermage + Titanium Lifting packages. The price lists on BeautsGO are typically updated regularly, so c
| ompare individual procedures and packages to see which is more c |
ost-effective before you go.
**Point 6: Is a Chinese translator available?**
While the clinic has a Chinese-speaking coordinator, it’s best to confirm again on the day of the consultation whether a translator will accompany you throughout. Especi
| ally when discussing procedure details and post-treatment care, having a p |
rofessional translator present helps prevent misunderstandings.
**Point 7: Post-treatment LDM soothing is standard**
The clinic emphasizes that “medical beauty treatments shouldn’t leave you with visible marks.” After high-intensity procedures, they provide standard LDM droplet soothing
othing time will be provided after
the procedure.
**Point 8: No walk-ins allowed — reservations are mandatory**
Go
ld J is a boutique clinic with a fully reservation-based system. Walk-ins are not accepted. Even if you just want to consult, you need to book in advance. The easiest way is to check availability through the BeautsGO app or mini-program, avoiding the need to make calls
in Korean.

**VI. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)**
**Q: Is Gold J suitable for first-time visitors to South Korea for medical beauty treatments?**
**A:** Yes. It’s conveniently located right in front of Seonnyung Station, with easy transportation. The Chinese-speaking coordinator can assist with communication, and
direct consultation by the director reduces the risk of
fake treatments. However, prices are on the higher side in Gangnam, so it’s recommended to prepare a budget and list the procedures you want before booking.
**Q: What are their strong areas?**
**A:** Filler injections (especially lip shaping and under-eye filling), photorejuvenation t
reatments (Ultherapy Prime, Thermage FLX, Sofwave, Titanium
Lifting), and acne and Pores management (Potenza Golden Microneedling, PDT, Golden Laser).
**Q: Is a deposit required for booking? Can it be refunded?**
**A:** When booking through BeautsGO, the system will indicate whether a deposit is needed. Generally, refunds can be requested 72 hours before the consultation, subject to the rules on the order page. B
e careful not to transfer money privately to anyone claiming to be
customer service.
**Q: There seem to be two different addresses — where exactly is it?**
**A:** I visi
ted the 8th floor of the Daechi Building, right in front of Exit No. 1 at Seonnyu
ng Station, which is also the address listed in BeautsGO’s official press releases. Since co
mmercial buildings in Seoul often change locations or re-register, it’s recomm
ended to double-check the latest address and floor number through BeautsGO before you go.
**VII. M
y conclusion: Who is Gold J suitable for?**
If you meet any of the following criteria, Gold J is worth considering:
· You prefer direct consultation and treatment by the director and dislike mass-produced treatment methods.
· You have high standards
l prices for Koreans and foreigners and transparent pricing to avoid being overcharged.
· You’re staying near Seonnyung Station and want convenient transportation so you can return to your hotel quickly after the treatment.
However, if you’re looking for a large chain clinic with “everything available” or prefer walk-ins, this might not be the right choice for you. Its pace is slower and more meticulous, making it more of a boutique clinic that relies on word-of-mouth.
