Hands-on review of V Dermatology in Gangnam, Seoul: With a Juvederm Key Doctor on staff, these 8 details will help you decide if it’s worth visiting
My goal for this trip to Gangnam was very clear: to find a Dermatology clinic that’s “small but highly specialized, with in-person consultations by the director, and doesn’t charge foreigners unfairly higher prices.” I initially didn’t include V Clinic’s Gangnam branch (Gangnam V Dermatology) on my list of top choices because there wasn’t much information available in Chinese online. It wasn’t until a friend told me that the director is a Key Doctor for Juvederm from Allergan and that the clinic is located near Gangnam Station that I added it to my itinerary at the last minute. This article is based on my actual visit—no exaggeration, no criticism—just a reference for those planning to go there.

Why did I add this place to my itinerary at the last minute?
I had initially focused on a few large chain clinics, but I later discovered a common issue with larger medical centers: the consultants handle everything first, while the clinic director only signs off—meaning many details go unaddressed. A friend recommended V Clinic, and two things he mentioned made me change my mind:
First, the clinic’s director, Ryu Dong-geun, is an officially certified Juvederm Key Doctor by Allergan—a title that not every director in South Korea’s Dermatology fields holds. Second, although the clinic isn’t large, it has its own anesthesiologist, Park Chul-hee, which makes procedures like phototherapy or injection sedation much more reassuring. For me, having the director personally assess one’s bone structure is far more important than how luxurious the clinic’s interior is.

In-Hospital Experience: The Process from Booking to Leaving
Booking: I use BeautsGO to secure a time slot with Chinese-speaking assistance in advance, so I don’t have to spend half a day struggling with Korean at the clinic. It’s recommended to book at least a week in advance on weekends, and 2–3 days in advance on weekdays.
Check-in: Take the elevator in the building straight to the 15th floor. There’s a receptionist who speaks Chinese to verify your appointment. The waiting area is small but clean; I waited for about 15 minutes.
In-person consultation: Dr. Ryu Dong-geun came in personally. He first used an AI skin analysis tool to examine my skin, then used a pen to mark areas on my face, saying, “This spot needs reinforcement, while this area would benefit from phototherapy.” Instead of pushing expensive packages, he asked me first, “What’s the main concern you have this time?”
Procedure: I opted for Rejuran PN in a 2cc dose, along with basic sedation management. An anesthesiologist was on hand to assist, and the entire procedure took about 40 minutes. After the treatment, I was given sample repair creams and sunscreen at no extra cost.

Reference Prices for Popular Procedures in 2026 (KRW + RMB estimates)
All prices are in South Korean won (KRW). Taiwanese dollars are estimated at ₩10,000≈NT$230; the actual amount will depend on the exchange rate at the time of visit. Prices are sourced from BeautsGO and on-site announcements, and are provided for reference only.

8 key factors to help you decide whether to book at this place
| Focus Point 1|Does the director’s experience meet your expectations? |
Dr. Liu Dongjun is a Juvederm-certified instructor and an Allergan Key Doctor, which means he holds official certification from the manufacturers in terms of Filler injections and facial contour assessment. If your main goal is to get Filler injections or have your facial contours refined, this credential is a huge advantage; however, if you’re simply looking for basic skincare services, this recognition doesn’t carry much significance for you.
| Focus Point 2|On-site anesthesiologists available — photodynamic sedation offers greater peace of mind |
Many small Dermatology clinics don’t have on-site anesthesiologists and rely on external providers for treatments like Thermage or those that require deeper penetration. V Clinic has a full-time anesthesiologist named Park Chul-hee on hand, which is a huge advantage for those who are anxious about pain or need to undergo multiple treatments at once.
| Focus Point 3|Located in the Gangnam Station area, offering convenient transportation and accommodation options |
The address is 15th floor, No. 441 Gangnam-daero. It takes about 5–8 minutes to get there from either Gangnam Station or Sinnonhyeon Station. After your treatment on Friday evenings, you can find cafes downstairs to relax in—very convenient for tourists.

| Focus Point 4|The prices are the same in Korea and China, but be sure to clarify what’s included in the “low-price attraction” offers. |
The clinic claims to offer the same prices as those in South Korea — basic cleansing services cost ₩55,000, while Rejuran PN costs ₩250,000, both of which are considered reasonable rates in Gangnam. However, be aware that some special offers (such as the Cinderella injection at ₩30,000) might only be trial prices, so you’ll need to confirm the costs for subsequent treatments.
| Focus Point 5|Open until 17:00 on Saturdays, closed on Sundays |
You can still make it if you stop by after work on Friday (it’s open until 20:00), but it’s completely closed on Sundays. If your schedule in Seoul only includes the weekend, then this place isn’t suitable for you.
| Focus Point 6|Small clinic size – not ideal for those who want to get multiple procedures done at once in a streamlined manner |
Here, you can have a combination of up to 2–3 treatments at a time, and the clinic director will recommend doing them in stages. If you’re the type who wants to fix their entire face in one go, you might find it not satisfying enough.
| Focus Point 7|Chinese support is not available 24/7; it’s recommended to schedule an appointment in advance. |
Although there’s a Chinese-speaking room manager available, they’re not there at all times. It’s recommended to book a time for a Chinese interpreter through the platform in advance, so you won’t have to wait for one on site.
| Focus Point 8 | Rating 4.9/5, but the number of reviews isn’t very high |
BeautsGO has an impressive 4.9 rating, but it has a smaller number of reviews compared to larger chains. It’s recommended to use these scores as a reference—what really matters is whether the plan outlined by the clinic director during your in-person consultation is clear and detailed.

Frequently Asked Questions FAQ
How to make an appointment at Gangnam V Dermatology
It’s recommended to book through BeautsGO first and mention that you need assistance in Chinese, so the check-in process at the clinic will be smoother. For weekends, it’s advised to book a week in advance.
Is the director from South Korea? How can I communicate in Chinese?
Dr. Yoo Dong-geun is a physician from South Korea, and his clinic has a Chinese-speaking manager to assist with translations, who also provides real-time interpretation during in-person consultations.
Will the price be higher just because I’m a foreigner?
The clinic claims to offer the same prices as those in South Korea, and the actual bill amounts are identical to those charged to local patients there. However, some special offers may have time restrictions, so it’s recommended to confirm these details when making a reservation.
Which treatments are worth getting done?
Based on the director’s expertise, his strengths lie in using Filler for contouring, Juvederm series treatments, and comprehensive anti-aging therapies. While he also offers photonic treatments such as HIFU and Thermage, it’s recommended to have the director assess your skin condition first before making a decision.
How long after the procedure can I wear makeup or fly back to Taiwan?
For injection treatments, it’s generally recommended to avoid makeup on the day of the procedure, with light makeup allowed the day after. Due to the high energy intensity of phototherapy treatments, it usually takes 1–3 days before normal makeup can be applied again. Flying isn’t a problem, but it’s advised to stay well-hydrated and use sunscreen after the treatment.
