There’s More to Jeju Island Than Just Beaches|NewLINE Dermatology Review: 3 Chief Physicians on Duty, Anesthesiologists Available, Plus Evening Consultations on Thursdays
For this trip to Jeju Island, I originally planned to just enjoy the beaches, try black pork, and shop at duty-free stores. But after a friend mentioned that facial treatments in Jeju are cheaper than in Seoul and there’s no need to crowd around, I added Dermatology to my itinerary on short notice. In the end, I chose NewLINE Dermatology on Oehyeong-ro for practical reasons: it has three doctors taking turns seeing patients, an anesthesiologist dedicated to providing sleep anesthesia, and night services running until 21:00 on Thursdays, offering great flexibility for tourists. This article outlines my actual experience, the 5 key points I noticed, and price references, to help those who also want to get facial treatments while in Jeju.
If you’re also planning to visit the NEWLINE Dermatology in Jeju, BeautsGO lets you check
the director’s availability and book appointments directly—no need to translate through a Chinese interface or navigate the official Korean website.
Why did I choose JEJU NEWLINE Dermatology?
Jeju Island doesn’t offer as many aesthetic medicine options as Seoul, but the Dermatology clinics in areas like Oryu-ro and Yeon-dong have become increasingly sophisticated over the past few years. My choice of Newline was based on a practical reason: its leadership team comes from Seoul. The three doctors specialize in different fields, making it far from those small clinics that rely on just one physician to handle everything.
The clinic is located on the 6th floor at 380 Ryoheung-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. Starting from Jeju International Airport, take buses numbered 365, 465, or 466 heading toward the city center. Get off at the Ryoheung-ro entrance or Ryoheung 5-way intersection, and it’s only a 3–5 minute walk to get there. The entire journey takes about 25–30 minutes, with a fare of ₩1,200–1,500—much cheaper than traveling from Seoul Airport to Gangnam. If you have a lot of luggage, it’s better to take a taxi, which costs around ₩15,000 or more.
Another advantage is that its business hours are very convenient for tourists: it’s open from 10:00–19:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, offers evening appointments until 21:00 on Thursdays, from 10:00–16:00 on Saturdays, and is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays. Even if you have plans to watch whales or visit a seaside café during the day, you can still schedule a consultation on Thursday evenings.

Go and see for yourself: Here’s how the process works
Booking: I make my appointment through BeautsGO two days before my trip. The Chinese interface allows you to select the date and the service you’d like to consult for directly; just include a note if you need it translated into Chinese. You can also book on the day of, but for popular times (Thursday evening appointments and Saturday afternoons), it’s recommended to book in advance.
Upon arrival at the clinic: The building at No. 380 Lao Heng Road looks rather plain on the outside, but once you reach the 6th floor, the space is much brighter than expected. A manager who speaks Chinese is available at the front desk to confirm your appointment, have you fill out a brief questionnaire, and then you wait for your number to be called. I waited about 10 minutes that day.
In-person consultation: The clinic director first reviewed the skin analysis results, then asked about my regular skincare habits and the issues I wanted to address. My main concerns were fine lines and uneven skin tone. Instead of recommending the most expensive package right away, she suggested starting with a session of Rejuran PN combined with basic laser treatment, followed by an assessment of the results to decide further steps. The consultation lasted around 15–20 minutes, during which she explained everything in detail.
Procedure: Injection treatments are performed personally by the clinic director, with nurses assisting and providing post-procedure comfort. All supplies are opened in front of me, allowing you to scan codes to verify the authenticity of both Filler and hyaluronic acid injections. After the procedure, I provide Chinese instructions for post-care as well as samples of sunscreen.
Second half: The 5 key priorities I observed in these hospitals
Focus Point 1|Three Specialist Directors Provide Consultations, Each with Their
Own Expertise NEWLINE doesn’t operate under a single director system – instead, it’s led by three specialist doctors: Yang Eun-geon, Kim Jun-soo, and Xu Zhongxun. Director Yang Eun-geon, who graduated from the College of Medicine at Kajoon University, is the youngest executive director of the Korean Association of Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery. He specializes in Rejuran PN and regenerative fillers. Director Kim Jun-soo, a graduate of the College of Medicine at Seoul National University, is expert in Juvelook fillers. Director Xu Zhongxun, who graduated from Suncheon National University’s College of Medicine, used to head the Apgujeong Women’s Doctor’s Clinic and the Gangnam branch of YoungPermanent Plastic Surgery. His main procedure is Tuneface Lifting. All three have a 4.9 rating on BeautsGO, allowing patients to choose the director best suited to their desired treatment.
Focus Point 2|The anesthesiologists at NewLINE specialize in sleep anesthesia, rather than being general surgeons who also
handle anesthesia — this is one of the main reasons I chose them. Basic cream anesthesia and local anesthesia are provided free of charge. If sleep anesthesia (sedation anesthesia) is needed, an additional fee of ₩250,000 applies. Throughout the process, however, it’s the anesthesiologists who oversee everything, not the clinic director handling both procedures. This ensures much better risk management and greater transparency in the workflow.
Focus Point 3|Thursday night appointments available until 21:00 – flexible time for tourists. Many Dermatolog
y clinics on Jeju Island are only open during the day, but NEWLINE stays open until 21:00 on Thursdays, making it very convenient for those with daytime schedules. Just keep in mind that it’s completely closed on Wednesdays and Sundays, so be sure not to miss your appointment.
Focus Point 4|Personalized care by a dedicated surgeon – From consultation to plan design, the clinic emphasi
zes that “the surgeon will personally handle every step, from consultation to plan development,” rather than following a routine where Director A handles consultations while Nurse B performs the procedure. During the in-person consultation, you can see that the director tailors the treatment plan based on your skin condition and lifestyle, without pushing any pre-packaged packages.
Focus Point 5|Local prices on Jeju Island offer better value compared to similar clinics in Seoul. Wi
th a leadership team that has experience in Seoul, NEWLINE’s pricing is lower than that of clinics in Gangnam at the same tier. Additionally, flight and accommodation costs on Jeju Island are usually more affordable for Chinese tourists, making it an ideal choice for those who want to combine travel with minor cosmetic treatments.
My honest take: Who is it suitable for? Who isn’t?
Ideal for those planning a trip to Jeju Island and wanting to take advantage of minor cosmetic procedures along the way; individuals who prioritize anesthesia safety and prefer their procedures to be monitored by an anesthesiologist; as well as those interested in mid-level anti-aging treatments such as Rejuran, Juvelook, and Tuneface but don’t want to crowd around in Seoul.
Not suitable for: those whose appointments are only scheduled on Wednesday or Sunday (the clinic is closed on these days); those seeking top-tier, large-scale cosmetic clinics or requiring general anesthesia surgeries (NewLINE does not offer general anesthesia services); and those who insist on finding a specific renowned doctor in Gangnam, Seoul.
Quick tip: Jeju Island has strong UV radiation, so make sure to enhance your sun protection and moisturization after laser or hyaluronic acid treatments. Before paying, check whether the price already includes 10% VAT, and open and inspect the injection supplies in person to ensure their authenticity.
