Guide to Getting a Face Treatment While Shopping in Hongdae|First-hand Review of Jfeel Hongdae Branch: Direct subway access, with the same doctor handling your entire treatment from start to finish
For this trip to Seoul, I originally planned to just shop and eat in Hongdae, while taking the opportunity to get my skin care done at the same time. To my surprise, Jfeel Dermatology’s Hongdae branch is located right in Future Plaza, connected directly to Exit 8 at the Hongdae entrance station. You can reach it by stepping out of the turnstile and taking an elevator—no need to expose yourself to the sun at all. What surprised me even more was their system of assigning a single doctor for each patient’s initial consultation—this same doctor handles everything from the examination to the actual treatment, rather than being part of a routine process where a nominal director oversees while nurses do the actual work. In this article, I’ve compiled my observations on the facility, procedures, prices, along with 5 key points to consider, for those who also want to take care of their skin while in Hongdae.

Why did I choose Jfeel in Hongdae?
In recent years, Hongdae has become famous not only for its nightlife and cafes but also for the increasing number of Dermatology clinics in the area. My choice of Jfeel was based on a practical reason: its convenient location. The clinic is situated on the 5th and 7th floors of MIRAE PLAZA at 166 Yanghwa-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The Hongdae Entrance Station is accessible via the Subway Line 2, Gyeongui-Jungang Line, and Airport Railroad. Exit 8 leads directly to the shopping mall, making it easy to head upstairs even with luggage.
It takes about 25 minutes to get here from Gimpo Airport, while taking the AREX train from Incheon Airport directly to Hongdae Entrance Station takes around 40 minutes. For someone like me who schedules medical beauty treatments on the first day of arriving in Korea or on the day of leaving, there’s no need to take a detour through Gangnam, saving a lot of time.
Another advantage is that Jfeel has a very clear target audience: young people, students, and tourists. The clinic features a bright and minimalist design, free from the oppressive atmosphere of traditional hospitals. The 5th floor is dedicated to reception and consultations, while the 7th floor serves as the treatment area, with well-organized pathways throughout. The clinic also provides on-site translation services in Chinese, English, Japanese, and Thai, ensuring that first-time visitors to South Korea for medical aesthetics procedures won’t feel overwhelmed.

For certain advanced treatments such as Thermage FLX, Titanium Lifting, ONDA, and thread lifting, you’ll need to log in or attend a consultation first to get an accurate final quote. It’s recommended to check the current prices on BeautsGO before you go, and then verify the total price including taxes with the clinic director upon arrival.
Go there in person: Here’s how it works
Reservation: The Jfeel branch in Hongdae is very busy every day, so it’s recommended to make a reservation in advance. The easiest way is through BeautsGO — its Chinese interface allows you to view the director’s availability and service prices directly, eliminating the need to dial Korean-language phones. You can note that you need a Chinese translator when making the reservation.
Upon arrival: Exit through Gate 8 at the Hongdae Entrance Station, then head straight into the shopping mall. Take the elevator to either the 5th or 7th floor. You don’t need to step outside at all, making it comfortable whether it’s raining or in the summer. The front desk will confirm your reservation, and a Chinese-speaking supervisor will come over to assist you and fill out the questionnaire.
In-person consultation: It starts with a skin analysis, after which the clinic director reviews the results personally to recommend a suitable treatment plan. I was mainly looking to improve my skin texture and reduce fine lines. Instead of immediately suggesting the most expensive package, the director first asked about my daily routine and skincare habits, then recommended a combination of hyaluronic acid injections along with basic laser therapy. The consultation lasts around 15 minutes, during which all details are explained clearly.
Procedure: The treatment is performed personally by the clinic director, with nurses mainly responsible for assisting and providing post-procedure comfort. The Filler and PRP supplies are opened right in front of me, and you can scan the codes to verify their authenticity. This really puts your mind at ease, especially if it’s your first time undergoing medical aesthetics treatments.
Second half: The 5 key priorities I observed in these hospitals
Focus Point 1 | Doctor-led treatment system, not just a nominal director. Jfeel’s Hongda
e branch emphasizes “the same doctor who conducts the consultation is also the one who performs the procedure,” taking care of everything from plan design to post-operative care. For those worried about situations where only the director shows up while nurses do the actual work, this is a huge reassurance. The lead director, Huang Jin Guang, along with 5 other full-time doctors, all hold valid licenses with an average experience of over ten years.
Focus Point 2|The location is right in the heart of Hongdae. The clinic is situ
ated on floors 5 and 7 of Future Plaza, with direct access via Exit 8 at Hongdae Station on Subway Line 2, Gyeongui-Jungang Line, and Airport Railroad. You don’t need to step outside or navigate around — you can get your facial treatment while shopping, making it perfect for those with tight schedules.
Focus Point 3|Targeting younger consumers with affordable pricing for bas
ic hydration treatments: starting from ₩150,000 for Rejuran, ₩275,000 for Rejuran PN, and ₩300,000 for 1 cc of Juvederm. These prices fall into the mid-to-low range in the area between Hongdae and Gangnam, making them ideal for those with limited budgets or who are considering trying treatments for the first time. Keep in mind that membership programs and some advanced procedures require an on-site quote.
Focus Point 4|Advanced multilingual services – a comprehensive support system for foreigners is ava
ilable, with professional translators in Chinese, English, Japanese, and Thai on site at all times. There’s also a Chinese-speaking manager at the front desk to assist you throughout your visit. Booking through BeautsGO is entirely in Chinese, making it very easy for those who aren’t fluent in other languages.
Focus Point 5|No fixed lunch break, closed on Sundays – make sure to check ope
rating hours: Monday to Friday from 10:00–20:00, Saturday from 10:00–17:00. It’s closed on Sundays and public holidays, with no set lunch break either. Appointments can be made at any time during the day, but it’s completely closed on Sundays, so be sure not to show up for nothing.
My honest take: Who is it suitable for? Who isn’t?
Ideal for those visiting South Korea for medical aesthetics for the first time, wanting to take a stroll around Hongdae at the same time, or who have a limited budget but still prefer to be treated by a doctor in person. If you mainly need basic skin care, hyaluronic acid injections, Botox, or entry-level Filler treatments, Jfeel offers excellent prices along with convenient transportation options.
Not suitable for those who are looking for top-tier anti-aging devices (such as Sofwave or high-dose Titanium Lifting treatments for the entire face) or those who require treatments on Sundays. Jfeel is positioned as a one-stop solution for young people to look better, with no services available on Sundays, and some advanced treatments require on-site pricing.
Quick tip: The clinic operates on a membership basis, and some prices don’t include 10% VAT—make sure to confirm the total price including taxes before making payment. For injectable treatments such as Filler and Botox, it’s essential to open and verify the products in person, and ask the doctor to explain the dosage and injection area.
