Busan BASE Dermatology Price List 2026|How Much Do Thermage, Ultrasound, and Hylauronic Acid Treatments Cost? The Actual Numbers I Found and Tips to Avoid Pitfalls

Before coming to Busan for facial treatments, I checked around in Gangnam, Seoul, to see the prices. Thermage treatments started at as much as 3 million won. Later, a friend recommended BASE Dermatology in Haeundae, saying that since it’s also handled by the same chief physician, the prices might be more affordable. This time, instead of booking the treatment right away, I spent an entire afternoon getting detailed information about the “price ranges” — in this article, I’ll share with you the actual price ranges I found, the key factors that affect pricing, and why I ultimately chose to have the treatment at BASE.

Why do I ask for the price list first, instead of booking the treatment directly?

Prices for Dermatology services in South Korea can vary significantly. Even for the same “Thermage full-face treatment,” the cost at different clinics might differ by over 1 million South Korean won. BASE Dermatology doesn’t list a complete price table on its official website—a practice that’s quite common among clinics run by chief physicians in South Korea, as prices are adjusted based on the number of sessions, product brand, and individual skin conditions. So what I did this time was to first get a “reference range” from their Chinese customer service, and then go to the clinic for a personal consultation with the physician to finalize the price, which gave me more confidence.

Why is there such a big difference in prices? 3 key factors

For the same procedure, quotes can vary by two to three times. From my experience asking around at BASE, the main differences lie in these three aspects:

1. Number of Pulses and Treatment Area
For

Thermage full-face treatments, common options include 300 pulses, 600 pulses, and 900 pulses; ultrasound treatments also come in configurations such as 100 pulses, 300 pulses, and 500 pulses. The more pulses used, the larger the coverage area, and naturally, the higher the cost. Personally, I recommend not focusing solely on the term “full-face” — it’s important to check the actual number of pulses used.

2. Product Brands and Authenticity
There

are numerous options available when it comes to Filler, Botox, and hyaluronic acid injections. BASE is Ulthera’s official authentication service, ensuring that consumables are opened in front of you or come with authenticity verification. For me, this is far more important than saving tens of thousands of dollars.

3. Does it include post-procedure care?

Some clinics only quote the cost of the procedure itself; services like post-operative sedation, LDM therapy, and recovery masks require additional fees. BASE’s packages typically include post-procedure care in the discussion, so it’s best to ask directly whether it’s covered when inquiring about prices for accuracy.

Private One-on-One Treatment Rooms at BASE Dermatology

I actually went through the pricing inquiry process myself.

I scheduled my appointment for Thursday afternoon. Exit No. 11 at the Centum City subway station, and it takes about 3 minutes to reach the Centum Diamond building. The clinic is on the 2nd floor — just turn right after coming out of the elevator. There’s staff who speak Chinese, so I filled in my basic information first, then underwent a skin assessment. After that, Dr. Kim Byeong-soo examined me in person. Instead of pushing expensive treatment options right away, he asked me, “What’s your biggest concern?” and then suggested two options: one combined treatment using Thermage and ultrasound for skin laxity, and the other a combination of hyaluronic acid therapy and Pico for uneven skin tone.

In the end, I didn’t make a decision on the spot. Instead, I asked him to send me the quotes and quantities for both options so I could go back to the hotel and think it over. The next day, I confirmed the appointment via WeChat. This pace was much more comfortable for someone like me who is wary of being sold to.

The three key skin focus areas at BASE Dermatology: LINE / TEXTURE / TONE

During the in-person consultation, the director helped me clarify my needs in just three words—these are also the core principles of BASE:

LINE | Contour: Addressing facial contours, sagging, and drooping skin. Common treatments for this include Thermage, HIFU, and Filler support.
TEXTUR
E | Pores and Imperfections: Treating Pores, acne scars, and fine lines. Relevant treatments are Potenza, Pico, and Potenza.
TONE | Skin Color: Improving
dullness, spots, and sallow complexion. Effective solutions involve various types of hydrating treatments, whitening lasers, and post-procedure recovery care.

This kind of categorization is very useful for me, because I don’t have to do everything at once — I can focus on the areas that matter most first.

Focus Point 1|Direct Consultation by the Director: The Key Detail Worth Confirming in the Price

In South Korea, many chain Dermatology clinics operate on a model where a consultant conducts an initial consultation, while nurses or junior doctors carry out the actual treatment. The prices may seem low, but the actual results often depend on luck. At BASE, treatments are performed personally by Director Kim Byeong-soo, who adjusts the number of injections and the depth of penetration based on the skin analysis results. For me, this is the most valuable aspect beyond just the price.

Focus Point 2|Centum City is well-connected, but it’s closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.

The clinic is located very close to Centum City Station, with department stores and cafes in the surrounding area, making it convenient to go shopping after getting your facial treatment. However, keep in mind that it’s closed on Wednesdays, Sundays, and public holidays, while evening appointments are available on Tuesdays until 20:00. If you have a tight schedule, it’s advisable to check the opening hours before making a reservation.

Focus Point 3|Officially certified genuine equipment with on-site verification of consumables

BASE is Ulthera’s official certification body, and its certification mark can be found both on their official website and at treatment clinics. For procedures like Thermage and ultrasound therapy—where the probes are expensive and counterfeit versions are common—I always give priority to clinics that hold this certification. After all, even if the price seems low, using a fake probe will result in much higher costs for repairs down the road.

THE BASE official website doesn’t provide a complete price list, which can be inconvenient for those who prefer to check prices first before making a decision. My approach is to get a rough price range through their Chinese customer service first, and then have the clinic director provide an accurate quote based on the examination results once I’m there. This way, I’m not pressured by the atmosphere at the clinic, and I still get a more precise figure.

Focus Point 5|Post-procedure care should be included in the discussion—recovery is more important than the procedure itself

After undergoing Thermage or ultrasound treatments, the skin enters a state of heightened metabolism. At this time, proper soothing and moisturization play a crucial role in determining the treatment’s effectiveness. BASE plans out the post-treatment care during the initial consultation, including treatments like LDM and AstroDome Facial. I think adopting this approach that combines treatment with recovery is much more reliable.

Truth: My take on BASE’s price vs. value

BASE’s prices aren’t the lowest in Busan, but they fall within a reasonable range for clinics that offer direct consultations by the director. If what you’re looking for is “affordability and speed,” there are many chain clinics in Seomyeon or Hongdae to choose from. However, if you prefer direct consultation by the director, certified equipment, and comprehensive post-operative care, I think BASE’s pricing is quite reasonable. My advice is: don’t just focus on the cost of a single procedure—take into account who will perform the treatment, what methods will be used, and how much follow-up care will be provided.
