To be honest, I had been struggling with the decision of whether to go to Gangnam for Dermatology treatment for a long time. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to, but rather there were so many options that I didn’t know how to choose. Before going, I did a lot of research. But once I was there, I realized that there are some things that can truly only be experienced by being there in person. This article aims to chronicle my entire experience – from making the appointment to the actual procedure and then the recovery period – in a truthful manner, hoping it can help those of you who are still hesitating.

What attracted me at first wasn’t the price or the equipment, but three very practical issues:
First of all, is it possible to schedule a treatment on Sunday? Most Dermatology clinics in Gangnam are either closed on Sundays or only open for a short time on that day. All three directors of SWOMAN come from the large-scale chain Dermatology clinic Muse Clinic and have extensive experience in online contouring, Filler injections, and Lifting treatments. Moreover, it’s not just the director who conducts the initial consultation before delegating the rest to assistants; instead, the director handles the entire process from consultation to treatment. To be honest, this is not a common practice in Dermatology clinics in Gangnam.
Thirdly, are the prices transparent? Sia adopts a standardized pricing model based on set procedures, so you can know exactly how much it will cost before proceeding. This eliminates the situation where the price doubles after a face-to-face consultation. This is particularly beneficial for those who are going to South Korea for medical aesthetics treatments for the first time, as it helps them feel more at ease and informed.
Location and Environment | It only takes 60 seconds to reach the Sinnonhyeon station.
Sia’s location is truly of the “impossible to get lost” kind. Just exit Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station on Line 7 and you’ll arrive in less than 60 seconds. Below is Starbucks, and right at the entrance lies Gangnam-daero, the main road—so it’s extremely easy to find. Compared to those tiny clinics hidden down in alleys that require half a day of navigating, such a convenient location really saves a lot of trouble.
The clinic occupies the 4th and 5th floors, covering a total area of 224 square meters. The 4th floor serves as the reception area, featuring 10 private treatment rooms and 8 consultation rooms; the 5th floor is dedicated to the treatment procedures, with 13 treatment rooms. The entire process, from registration, skin examination, pre-treatment photography to facial cleansing, is completed on the 4th floor, while the actual treatments take place on the 5th floor, eliminating the need for patients to travel back and forth.
One detail that left a deep impression on me is that the facial cleansing is done for you by the clinic, so you don’t even need to bother doing it yourself. It may seem like a small thing, but the difference in experience is significant – you just need to arrive at the clinic with your natural face, and they take care of everything else.
The Dean’s Team | Three people build a high-quality clinic together
The three directors of SWOMAN each have their own areas of expertise, but they share one thing in common: they all come from Muse Clinic. This is not some casual affiliation; Muse is a established chain in Gangnam, and the fact that these individuals were able to leave there and establish their own businesses on their own speaks volumes about their capabilities.
Dean Li Yuyue (acting dean) specializes in non-surgical facial Lifting and contour shaping treatments. He has extensive experience in operating various high-end Lifting devices such as Ultherapy, Thermage FLX, and Oligio, and is adept at developing the most suitable treatment plans based on an individual’s facial structure and degree of aging. If you are considering any Lifting procedures, turning to him is definitely the right choice.
President Kim Seong-min (Chief Executive Officer) is responsible for overseeing the overall quality control of medical treatments. He specializes in laser skin treatments such as PicoSure Honeycomb Pico and DermaV. He has extensive experience in treating pigmentation spots, vascular issues, acne, and acne scars. In particular, he is highly skilled at adjusting laser parameters according to the skin types of Asians to maximize treatment effectiveness while minimizing side effects.
Director Park Sang-won specializes in botulinum toxin injections (for face slimming, wrinkle removal, and glow-enhancing effects) as well as precise Filler injections, with a focus on achieving natural results and harmony. If you don’t want anyone to instantly notice that you’ve had these treatments, his aesthetic approach is definitely what you’re looking for.

• Rejuran: Starting from ₩1,999,000. A classic choice among skin regeneration injections. Sia also offers a package that includes 2cc of Rejuran, 2cc of Juvelook, and full-face botulinum toxin injections for ₩3,349,000 – a great value for money.
• Hilo Wave: A new product, starting from ₩390,000 per 2 centum core. Highly recommended for use around the eyes and in the Nasolabial Fold Correction area; its filling effect lasts longer than that of traditional hyaluronic acid injections.

My real experience | A detailed record of everything from making the appointment to the actual procedure
I made my reservation on BeautsGO, and I received a response within about an hour. Once I arrived at the clinic, the process went smoothly:
Step 1: Registration + Skin Examination: Go to the front desk on the 4th floor to complete the registration process, and then undergo a detailed SWOMAN skin imaging diagnosis. This examination is much more professional than I expected; it’s not just a casual scan, but rather an in-depth analysis of various aspects of your skin, such as Pores, skin pigmentation, moisture levels, and elasticity.
Step 2: Personal consultation with the clinic director: Bringing my test results along, I had a one-on-one consultation with the director. I originally planned to undergo HIFU combined with hyaluronic acid treatment, but after examining my skin condition, the director suggested adding Onda microwave therapy, stating that my jawline would benefit significantly from microwave energy for additional Lifting. The key point was that there was no pressure to buy anything; instead, the director simply and objectively explained why adding Onda would be more effective in my case. This approach really put me at ease.
Step 3: Facial cleansing: The medical staff will perform this step for you, and the entire process takes approximately 10 minutes. After cleansing, a topical anesthetic will be applied, and you need to wait for about 20 minutes.
Step 4: Procedure: Go to the treatment room on the 5th floor; the entire procedure will be performed by the director himself/herself. During the HIFU treatment, you may experience some mild soreness and swelling, but it is completely tolerable. The Onda treatment is virtually painless. The discomfort associated with the hyaluronic acid injection is also well-controlled – after applying the anesthetic, the sensation becomes almost imperceptible. The entire procedure takes approximately 40 minutes.
Step 5 Postoperative Care: After the procedure, a calming facial mask was applied, and the hospital director explained the precautions to take after the surgery. The Chinese translation was available throughout the process, ensuring no communication barriers.
Recovery Period and Results | Changes can be observed starting from the 3rd day
Actually, I could go out just like normal right after the treatment; my skin was just a bit reddened. By the next day, the redness had gone away, and on the third day, I noticed that my skin had become tighter, and my jawline looked much more defined than before. About a week later, the results were at their most natural. When my friends saw me, they said, “Your skin looks great these days,” but no one could tell that I had undergone any treatment – and that’s exactly what I wanted.
The effects of the glow treatment usually begin to become apparent in the second week; the skin becomes more hydrated, and makeup applies more smoothly. It is said that the tightening effect of HIFU becomes more noticeable after 2 to 3 months, and the results are still continuing to improve.

⚠️ It should be noted that SWOMAN opened in December 2025. Although the leadership team has extensive experience, the clinic itself is relatively new and currently has a limited number of reviews. If you place great importance on “established clinics that have been in operation for a long time”, this may be a factor you need to consider. However, in my opinion, the experience of the leadership team is what truly matters.
